February In Review

I have started to keep all my receipts so I can track my spending and savings for each month.

Total Spent (For my Family of 4)

Total I would have spent without couponing:

That's a savings of 84%

How did everyone else do?

I'm a new fan of yours, Thank you for your time and help.
How did you calculate this total for the month?
I thought of this yesterday after doing some coupon shopping.

At Albertson's the receipts are very easy to calculate. I just add up The "Total" at the Bottom (It's under the Tax line and has 4 stars by it). Then to calculate total savings, on the Albertsons receipts towards the bottom it says "Todays Total Savings" (for other places I shopped I added it was a little different)
Then to figure out how much I would have spent on everything without couponing I added the two numbers together.
I hope this makes sense!?!?

That's impressive! I'm trying to get into coupons and savings, and your blog looks like it'll help me A LOT...especially because you're local. Anyway, thanks again! I can't wait to be a regular reader now!

Great job. I have kept all my receipts, but am not sure of the total OOP. Are you including CVS, grocery shopping as well?

I wish we still had Albertson's here(Fresno, Ca) but another store bought all of them:( I really liked shopping there.

Wowza, 84%?! That's my goal-thanks for this great blog. Checking this blog daily is my new obsession, because I know that while I'm at work, there will be at least one post with a new deal of the day here.

Love it!

Is that including fresh food like produce and meat?? If so, how did you pull that off b/c they don't have coupons for that kind of stuff! I'm trying so hard to save money with coupons and you have helped so much but I still have a long way to go and alot to learn!

I don't shop much at Walgreens or RiteAid (there is no CVS here)... I have an Albertson's close to my house, so I can justify going there often, but the closest Walgreens is 30 minutes away and by the time I get there, they are usually out of stock and it's just not worth it to me!
I included all of my household shopping which for February was- Walmart, Target, Albertsons, KMart.

That was all of my grocery shopping for the month... cleaning supplies, toiletries, food, medicine, everything!
Earlier in the month (or maybe this was in Janurary, I can't remember) they had a promo at Albertson's where you buy 3 Kraft Dressings and then you got $3 worth of chicken for free, (and the butcher block chicken was $1.67/lb) so I used coupons for the kraft dressings and had them package the chicken in $3.00 packages, and then, a $3.50 Catalina Printed Out at the End of the transaction. So I stocked up on chicken then!!
The Hamburger Meat was on sale for $1.99 at the butcher block at Albies a couple weeks ago, so I got some, and then I since discovered that they mark the ground beef down around 8:30 every night to $1.67/lb (even the 94% kind), so thats when I am going to be buying most of my ground beef!

And for produce, I am picky about when I buy it, I try to watch for sales.. You can't stock up quite the same way, but I just don't buy a lot unless it is on sale.

Hope this helps!

Heather - which Alb store marks hamburger down to 1.67? The ones I frequent won't do it less than $1.99/lb anymore. They used to do it $1.59 all the time! Thanks!

I live in Emmett, so I guess lucky for me the meat is still cheap!

Tricia...Not too long ago the Albertson's on McMillan and Eagle had theirs at $1.88. That's the best I've seen it.
