Great New Printables from the Coupon Bar

I just printed out 3 pages of coupons that I'm SOO excited about. I wanted to make sure you all had noticed the great new coupons too! First, I get really excited when I see a coupon for any produce and the first coupon I printed this morning was Save $0.75 on ANY one Fresh express complete salad kit. I've heard reports of $2/2 tearpads in front of the bagged salads too! You wouldn't be able to stack since they're both manufacturer, but keep an eye out on the Fresh Express bagged salad when you're out.
I also printed all of these great Kellogg's cereal coupons. I'm going to use them with the movie ticket promo, when Albies doubles or hope for a better sale before they expire at the end of May. The Post cereal sale is my favorite, but my husband prefers the sugary Apple Jacks!
$1.00/1 Corn Pops, $1.00/1 Apple Jacks, $1.00/1 Rice Krispies, $1.00/1 Fruit Loops, $1.00/1 Special K, $1.00/1 Mini-Wheats, $1.00/1 Raisin Bran!
Find all these great coupons and more by clicking "See all Coupons" on our coupon bar. You may print each coupon twice per computer; coupons print 3 to a page.

Krazy Coupon Guy: Big High Heels to Fill

Dear Krazies,

I was going to write a short report last Monday after a couple of shopping trips on Sunday and Monday morning. However, I witnessed thing at Albertson's that made me rethink my paltry efforts, the potential for couponing, and your kind humouring of me on your website for my little purchases.

While doing recon at Albertson's Monday morning, I witnessed a lone female (didn't get her name) as she was finalizing the purchase of at least 5 full carts of items that matched up with the $4 off $10 sale and the Conagra $10 off $25 sale. She had the exclusive attention of 2 young male cashiers (Heather?) and had multiple stacks of coupons in some semblence of order as she verified that all was in order. It is a guess, but I suspect she had at least $500, maybe $600, in the carts. If she was as good as she appeared to be, it is unlikely she would have spent more than $50 OOP on her load.

I left to find a table at Arby's to get a sandwich and a free flavored ice tea (with coupon) and to compare Albertson's sales flyer with my coupons and make a list.

When I returned, the first Koupon Kween had departed and another Kween with her Lady in Waiting were there recreating the size and type of purchase I had witness just an hour before.

It is a miracle that Albertson's didn't have to close down and restock after these 2 Kweens finished.

Now, much humbled, I quietly completed my shopping trip focusing on the Conagra specials. My first purchase was $25.00. I had $10.00 in manufacturers' coupons which made the purchase $16.50 with tax returning $10.00 in Catalinas. Second purchase was $25.00. I had $8.00 in manufacterers' coupons, $10.00 in Catalinas from the first purchase, and paid $8.50 with tax returning another $10.00 in Catalinas. So, OOP of $15.00 on purchase of $53.00 with tax. Receipt said savings of $85.66 off full list price.

Pretty good I thought. Or would have thought had I not witnessed, with mine own two eyes, the two miracles earlier that day. There are some big high heels out there for me to fill. While not needing to fill a semi as these Koupon Kweens did, I was - and am in - awe of their purchases.

My Walgreens visit today was a little better today. I had coupons for glucose meters which made them free. I got 4 (but only received 3 Catalinas). I also got 2 Rembrandts tooth pastes, 2 Bayer Crystals, 2 GOT2B gels, and the last box of Ecotrin. I also threw in some small Walgreen tissues that were $.25 each to round things up to maximize the Catalina coupons I used to pay for things. The meters are not in the attached photo as I dropped them off at an Assisted Living center on my home from Walgreens. Walgreens was also out of some items that I will pickup this Friday when I am in TF doing other things.

I walked into Walgreens with some Catalinas ($5.00) and some cash. I paid $17.41 in cash, rolled some Catalinas, and walked out with the products listed above plus $27.00 in Catalinas. I believe I was "shorted" $7.50 in Catalinas because I inadvertently used Catalinas from the same manufacturer (Bayer) during a purchase with several items, some of which were Bayer products. Not the identical product that earned the Catalina but the same manfucturer. Even though they were not the same product, additional Catalinas did not print. I should have purchased the meters alone so as not to confuse either the register or the poor cashier.

I am sure I would have learned this nuance if I had attended any of the KCL classes.

Also shown from today is my Wal-Mart purchase of 5 salad dressings ($.08 after coupons) and 10 boxes of Crunch & Munch ($5.00 after coupons).

My brother Pete from Wisconsin has been teaching the Walgreens in our hometown how to maximize the RR's there by rolling alternating products. I suspect he will open his own Walgreens discount store soon. He said he would send photo and description later this evening. As of noon he said he had started the day with $6.00 in RR's , spent about $7.00 OOP on $78.00 worth of purchases, and had $17.00 in RR's in his pocket as he was traveling to the next Walgreens.

Ronald McDonald House Wish List

Did you know that the Idaho Ronald McDonald house has a wish list for food and toiletries that they are in need of? Right now they need breakfast and granola bars. I'm so excited that our reader, Rebecca let me know about the wish list. I can't wait to have another place to donate when I find a great deal. Don't know what the Ronald McDonald house is? It is a home to families of children facing many pediatric illnesses, from the relatively minor to serious and life-threatening. The majority of families staying at the House have premature babies being treated in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit; children in the critical care/trauma unit; or those undergoing treatment for cancer or leukemia. Check out their wish list here and keep them in mind next time you're building your stock pile!

The Make-A-Wish foundation (which grants wishes to children with life threatening conditions) here in Idaho needs your help! Right now Betty Crocker is doing a Stirring Up Wishes which they are going to grant twelve wishes in twelve weeks. At last check Idaho was in fifth place for their respective category and we are hoping that if everyone will go on this website and place a vote that we can change that! Thanks Amanda for making sure that we were aware of this important campaign!

One last do-gooder spot for Tiffany Reeder Photography. Tiffany is passionate about adoption and she wrote in to let us know that she gives $100 off her photo sessions for all adoptive families. If you know someone who'd be interested visit her blog.

Krazy Coupon Guy: KCL Header High Def

I have made a small, but possibly important, alteration to the new header on your website. It is possible that when your artist created the original image, the object flying in the background was too fast for either his/her shutter speed or it had blurred and was removed.

I've done my best to recreate the scene and place the UFO in its proper location.

2 Ways to give back

As Krazy couponers, we are blessed by being able to purchase many items for free or very cheap and in turn, have what we need to feed our families. It is important that we give back to others who are less fortunate. May 9th is the "Stamp Out Hunger" USPS food drive. All we have to do is put a bag of non-perishable food items by our mailbox, and the letter carrier will pick it up. I'm sure all of us have gone a little Krazy on some deals and gotten more than we can use. This is a great way for us to give those items to someone in need. I will be looking for things that I can purchase a few extra of in the coming weeks before the food drive. I hope we can all give a little.

Another suggestion to help out our four-legged friends. This week's Smart Source insert had a coupon for free kitten chow. I don't have a cat, but I am going to redeem my coupons and give them to my local animal shelter. Whenever I drive by, I always see a sign that says they need food and funds. I'm sure many other shelters are the same. This is a small way we can help. Thank you ladies (and guys) for your generosity. However corny it sounds, I really do believe we can make a difference.

A little info for newbies. is a form of advertising for many restaurants looking for more customers. Restaurant owners sacrifice on their price margin but in return get new customers. On the website, you'll be asked to enter your zip code and it will pull up participating restaurants in your area. The you will see a list of restaurants and a selection of gift card prices. A $25 gift card is regularly priced at $10 (so 80% off means you'll pay only $2). The only catch is there is a minimum purchase amount: clearly listed under the gift card prices. Usually the customer must have a total initial bill of $35. Then you pay with your $25 gift card and your total could be as low as $10 plus gratuity for a $35 meal. It's as simple as that. Don' be a skeptic! Once you pay for your gift card you may print it immediately from your computer- so you could dine for lunch or dinner today if you wish!

One last coupon trip this week

If you've been neglecting this deal, I think it's worth doing after the kids are in bed. Sale ends at closing tonight!
Read how HERE.
This was the best deal I've got in awhile. I did five transactions that all looked like the picture at right. My total was $4.02 each time. I'll submit a rebate and receive $3 back for each transactions (I'll be using 5 different addresses of family and friends since only one rebate per address is allowed.)
So I got 5 packages of Huggies Diapers and 5 Blood Glucose Monitors ($50-80 retail which I will donate) for $5.10 TOTAL (after rebate savings)
Rest assured Krazy Coupon Rick, the honeymoon is over for me too, but sometimes a screaming deal like this one still gets my blood pumping!

More Printable Goodness!

Alright Krazies!!

Krazy Coupon Guy: the Honeymoon's Over!

Dear Krazies,

Okay, I think the honeymoon is almost over. While I am committed to the couponing relationship, I will admit some of the excitement seems to be wearing off. Where I used to throw myself into the activity without restraint, I seem to be approaching things more methodically - almost clinically. I came this close (fingers about 1/2" apart) to not going shopping this evening with the excuse I had a headache. But then I pulled up my man-bra straps, straightened my wig, and entered the store, coupons in hand, and made the most of the evening as best I could. It was not Albertson's fault I was having a bad day.

My purchases this evening:

Conagra $25 get $10 Catalina Sale:
Pork & Beans @ .50 a can (went over minimum required purchase by one can)
Canned Tomatoes @ $1.00 a can
Egg Beaters @ $2.00 a carton
Manwich @ $1.00 a can

This rang up at $25.50 pretax before $2.00 worth of coupons for the Egg Beaters for a total after tax of $25.03. The receipt showed a Savings of $32.02. Then 2 Catalinas printed for a total of $10 OYNSO.

Albertson's $10 get $4 Off Sale:
Cheerios @ $2.00 a box (had a coupon but forgot to use it)
Ritz Crackers @ $2.00 a box
Nabisco Crackers @ $2.00 a box
B.C. Muffin Mix @ $2.50 a box (had coupons)
B.C. Cookie Mix @ $1.67 a bag (had coupons but forgot to use some of them)
Fiber One Cereal Bars @ $2.50 box (had coupons)
Grey Poupon Mustard @ $2.50 a jar

This initially rang up at a little over $70.00 and deducted $28.00 with the promo. I had a $5.00 off a $30.00 purchase Albertson's coupon, $4.60 in other coupons, the $10.00 Catalina from the first purchase, and paid $24.45. The receipt showed a Savings of $101.83.

When I got home, I discovered I forgot to give the cashier additional coupons worth $2.20. So, the real purchase should have been $22.25 with a Savings of $104.03. If I had taken the time to locate more coupons I could have done better. My fault for not being "in the mood" this evening - I was distracted. Maybe I am suffering from PMS (Pre-Manstral Syndrome). I believe coupons are laced with estrogen.

I think I over-prepared today by working too hard on my list, subtotalling prices with my calculator, grouping the purchases on the list and in the cart to make the process easier for the cashier, verifying totals on the monitor before finalizing the transaction. Maybe I just expected too much from all my preparations. I should just let myself "be ready" for the moment and go with the flow. Take one day at a time. Be satisfied with baby steps. It's the little things that count. And I should stop spouting stale platitudes.

Tonight I'll curl up in front of the TV with some ice cream and wonder why I am putting on pounds and inches in all the wrong places. Hey, that sounds like a country song. Maybe I'll listen to the radio instead. Or mix up a batch of cookie dough and eat it with my ice cream. Or watch Beaches on DVD. Or The Princess Bride.

I am not sure how most of you deal with your "mood issues" with a demanding spouse and children to tend to. I at least can enjoy my misery alone and in peace in my Fortress of Solitude with a sad/funny movie. Now I need to find my Industrial Strength Midol caplets to sprinkle on my bowl of cookie dough ice cream.

La Tapatia Eagle Restaurant Review: 4.3 out of 5 Stars

1225 E. Winding Creek Drive 130
Eagle, ID 83616

La Tapatia Eagle was a pleasure to review. The service was excellent as was the authentic mexican food. The restaurant is beautiful and spacious and remained busy the whole evening, proving that, though it is new, it is already a hit with the locals!

Atmosphere: 4 Stars The decor and colors chosen for this new restaurant were bright and fresh with an expected mexican flair. The restaurant features beautiful decorative high ceilings and light fixtures. You can choose to be seated at a table, or opt for a cozy booth, as we did.

Family Friendly: 4 Stars La Tapatia offers a children's menu, and has booster seats and high chairs available upon request. We saw several families there while we visited, and they seemed to be well-cared for and happy. I would take my small children to this restaurant.

Service: 5 stars From the moment we entered the door, we were greeted with smiles from the hostess and servers. We were seated and brought drinks immediately, and then left to peruse the menu while we waited for our server, Karen. Karen was extremely friendly and accommodating, and made wonderful suggestions on the menu--it was obvious she knew it well and had personally tried the dishes she suggested to us. Our drinks were always filled, and they were excellent at anticipating our needs without making us feel that they were "hovering."

Food: 4 Stars We sampled a number of things that evening, but my favorite by far was the Botana De Carnitas appetizer. This dish consisted of chunks of super-tender and perfectly-spiced pork, sauteed with onions and jalapenos and served with warm flour tortillas. I absolutely loved it, and will probably get the entree portion next time I visit, just so I can have more!

Price: 4 Stars Entrees ranged from about $9.95-$14.50 and were well-worth the price for authentic, homemade, Mexican Cuisine.

Overall: 4.3 Stars We all agreed that this was a restaurant well-worth returning to, and one of the more creative and authentic Mexican restaurants serving the Boise area. I can give it my full recommendation.

Sunday Coupon Insert Preview 4/26

4/26 Hey everybody. I'm so bummed that our area got only ONE of these coupons as I'd listed. As I said, they are available to buy online. I don't know if I'll continue to do the coupon preview when there is such wide variance between regions.
Here are some good ones that we got this morning in Idaho:
$1/1 Juicy Juice Brain Development or immunity
$1/1 Pace specialty Salsa
Lots of Lysol
$0.75 off skintamate shave gel (just too late! Wags RR ended yesterday)
$1/1 Johnsons baby product
$1/1 Desitin

Here's the highlights from the preview I'm seeing. Cross your fingers that we get most of these in our inserts tomorrow. And as always, if we don't someone else did and they'll be available to buy online.
$2/1 Pace Specialty salsa. Get it for free (and legitimately, I might ad. . . wink wink) when KMart doubles$0.75/1 Scott's Extra Soft bath tissue 4-pack or larger
(If you want free TP, go buy some of the $1/1 coupons on Ebay: 20 of them for $3 shipped. Scotts Extra Soft 4 packs are $1.00 regular price at many Albies locations. Email KCL if you've got your coupons and can't find a location that sells them for $1 and we'll point you in the right direction)
$4.00/1 Schick Intuition and another $4/1 for Quattro as well$2.00/1 Act total care 33 oz or larger (makes a great one when KMart doubles)
Buy one Get on free Baskin Robbins Sundaes! Sign me up and "yes, I want whipped cream, nuts AND a cherry!"
We'll post to remind you, but this Wednesday from 5-10:00 PM is .31 cent scoop night at B&R!
$1/1 Bandaid (excludes trial size)

California Pizza Kitchen-- Print it 6 TIMES-- NOW!!

Don't know if this is a glitch or if California Pizza Kitchen really wants us to buy their pizza. Right now on the bar under our tabs-- if you click "see all coupons" you can click to select 3 different $2.00/1 California Pizza Kitchen coupons. And you can print each of them twice! Hurry before they run out of prints!
The coupon is for a 12" rising crust pizza- not compatible with the Albies sale this week, but still a great coupon, especially because they don't expire til July 30th!

Walgreens Weekly Deals 4/26-5/2

Rest In Peace: Easy Saver Rebate

Here Lies ESR....

April 25th is the last day for Walgreen's Easy Saver Rebate Program.
I have been assured by Walgreens that they are getting rid of the Rebates in exchange for more Register Rewards. Which I actually prefer. And some people are reporting that there will still be rebates, just no catalog. I guess we will wait and see! Scroll down for all the Krazy Deals that Start Sunday.

Coupon Virgins- Don't forget:

ESR: Easy Saver Rebate
IVC: Instant Value Coupon
RR: Register Rewards (like a Catalina)

- You can't use a RR on the same product you got it from. For example- this week if you buy the Ecotrin Tabs and a RR prints, you can't buy another Ecotrin, use the RR, and have a new Register Reward print. You can however Use the Ecotrin RR to buy the Suave Hair Care and vice versa. You could do multiple transactions with those 2 products and just swap RR's.

- Also, remember you have to have more products than manufacturer coupons, including Register Rewards. If you are buying Mitchum Deodorant and using a manufacturer coupon and a RR it won't let you unless you add a filler item (like a cheap pencil or piece of candy!)

-Here is what we have found is the best order to hand the cashier your coupons (if you have a different order that work better- let us know...) This way will allow for any possible overage! 1.Manufacturer Coupons, 2. IVCs (instant value coupons- from the booklet by the front doors), 3. Walgreens Ad Coupons, 4. Register Rewards
