I doubled 2 - $1/1 coupons for Trail Mix on sale for $2.79 which made them $.79 each. Buying two boxes made 1/2 gal. of Silk free. The Silk immediately rang up as $3.99- for me after the cereal rang up. The actual Silk price was $3.49 for a $.50 overage. I guess I could subtract that savings from the cereal making them $.54 ea. with free Silk.

I did a great double coupon trip this morning, using 18 double coupons at 3 different stores. You can see my post about it here:

I also doubled on Lysol cleaning products and paid .74 for 3 cleaning products! Just another great deal! Also on the way out I saw granola bites in there 10/ for 10 section. I had quaker granola coupons for $1 off and got them for free!

I tried doubling the quaker rice snacks $1 coupon to make the small $1.99 bag of snacks free and the cashier(s) said they couldn't double it because it would create an overage. I asked if they could adjust the value of the coupon down to the item and they said they couldn't do that either. Has anyone else had problems with this?

Phelps Family,
Grrrr! That makes steam start to come out my ears. Tell me which location you were shopping at? I'm in a fighting mood!
To my knowledge, they should be doing exactly as you said, adjusting down (a whopping $0.01).

It was the Blaine St location in Caldwell.

Phelps Family:
First I called the wrong # (the savon)
Then, I got disconnected while waiting for a manager
Next, I got a busy signal
Finally, I got through and talked to the manager Paula. She's going to be there all night tonight. She said that there was some confusion, but that they WILL double your $1 off coupon for a $1.99 product. They'll ring in the second time under "vendor coupon" for $0.99.
Basically, you were exactly right all along.

Thanks for doing the detective work for me. I'll be sure to go in and get that item doubled!

Last night, I went to the Albertsons at Meridian Rd/Cherry Lane to get my "free" Lysol toilet bowl cleaner and almost free mustard as mentioned on your site. The cashier, Jeanne, first told me that I couldn't use 2 sets of double coupons and I said that my daughter was a customer with her own coupons and own money and of course she could use a set of doublers. They she wouldn't double the 75c Lysol cleaners because they would be more than the cost of the item. I said make the doubler 74c. She said she would get fired. Asked for the manager, who had to ask another cashier what the policy was. I (my daughter) basically tied up 3 lanes for a couple minutes while they all discussed it and refused to do it. I have called Customer Care and am waiting for a call from the store director. I'm a little concerned that 1) the manager doesn't know the procedures and has to rely on the staff, and 2) the cashier was so worried about losing her job! I understand that Idaho law doesn't allow for deducting more than the cost of the item (can't tell you the statute number, but it's there) because the governor wasn't all his tax money. Since that was not what I was asking for, the trip really ticked me off!

This is so frustrating! Exactly what Phelps Family was dealing with in Caldwell. Grrr again for you! Albies customer care is usually pretty good and they should get back to you soon. If I were you I'd call this morning at 10:00 when the head manager will be in and ask to speak with him, (I'm pretty sure it's a "Him" at this location). Just ask what the policy is. Don't even mention that you've had trouble, just see what he says. I'm so sorry you were mistreated. I think all the staff sound like they were being over dramatic last night. SORRY!

I had the same problem with the rice snacks at Caldwell(near college),and told them about the email you posted a few days ago. Said their manager would need to receive the email from him. The other Caldwell store(older one)didn't say anything. Scanned it right through, giving me a penny overage on each one. Long story short, I was in the store again today(Caldwell near college) and spoke with the Manager Jared who was working. Said he talked it over with the cashiers and the Loss Prevention person, and you WILL be able to get your free stuff now. They will modify the price of the MC. Hope this helps to all those using Caldwell Albie's store.

P.S. Jared the manager was the one ringing me up and I used the Wheat thins $1 off and B1G1F coupon and doubler for the artisan wheat thins. I was thinking it was about $1 a box which is good...but ended up free with all coupons! I got 8 boxes total!!!! Use those coupons if you haven't to snag some free crackers, that is if they scan the coupons in the right order. Thanks Jared!!!!

I spoke with the assistant director Travis this morning. He had already received the email regarding my experience the night before and said (drum roll please), I was right. He said he had been assured that the cashiers had all received proper training and that was obviously not the case. He also said the cashier would not have been in jeopardy of losing her job over my coupons and that the manager also needed some training. He was going to hold Lysol tb cleaners for me, in case a bunch of KCL's stop by.
