I went early. I did not get a good deal! They never gave me my ten dollar instant savings! I thought that maybe the preffered price had already figured in the savings. I called a friend who said you need to make sure you ask them about it. I went to two different stores and neither gave me the discount! I called and am going in to see what happend. I know, confusing. Anybody else have these problems?

I just got back from the Albertsons on 5 Mile and Overland and I saved big bucks. The $10 comes off instantly at the end and you do not need to buy meat. My first transaction came to a total of $4.71! I got 10 Lipton Soup mixes, 2 Jet Puffed marshmallows, 1 Wishbone salad dressing, 1 Skippy peanut butter, 2 All detergents, and 1 gallon skim milk! I used lots of coupons, my free milk catalina and my $5 catalina left over from the Post cereal sale and then of course the $10 came off the top. I had another $25 transaction after this one and my total came to $8.45 (after $10 off and more coupons). I had my coupons ready and the ad with me so that if the cashier had questions we had the ad to consult. If I can round up more coupons I will do this again!

Barkers- Did you buy $25 in participating products... You have to get to $25 BEFORE tax and coupons....
Cassie- Thanks for the report- glad to hear it went so well for you!

I have the answer...just got back from Albertsons in Idaho Falls...
It's PER SECTION of the flyer. You have to buy $25 of the pictured items in one section. I tried with stove top and Q-tips and it wouldn't work, went to the customer service and they pointed out that you had to do $25 pictured in the section on one side of the flyer OR $25 pictured on the second side of the flyer. So I had them re-ring (thank you 17th street Albertsons! I know it was a pain) I put the Q-tips back and got more food items on the other side pic, and it deducted the $10 easily.

I just got back from the store in Meridian. They had several people it did not work for I was one of them. So they called Corporate and it seems they forgot to put some of the usbs on the sale. They had just sent out an email stating that, and were in the middle of fixing it. So if you did not get it to come off, I would go back in. They had to manually do mine. My second order worked, so must have been all the usbs were there.

I was so careful in planning my trip that I ONLY bought things within each section! JUST in case they had these "secret" rules. I went to Albertsons and told them what was going on and they said I followed the guidelines I was suppose to and gave me the 10.60$ I was supposed to have saved!! yay! So it is a great deal you just have to make sure the computer is doing its job! Thanks for all the help!

oh, and I have made two shopping trips. One of which I mixed up the items from each catagory and I still got that refund! So I don't know how true that is. Plus, wouldnt they have to say somewhere that you need to spend 25$ from each section to get the 10$ instantly?

I went today and did great! I combined the Albertson's deal with the Unilever rebate. More info go here:
http://couponconvert.blogspot.com/2009/04/free-meat-deal-at-albertsons.html
I spent $9.23 for $50 worth of food and a $20 ham. (I did use one $5 catalina from the post sale.)

Someone please tell me though, is it honest to do the sale without buying the meat? I'm struggling with this one. I did it on the knorr deal without even thinking about it because I read somewhere that you could. Then right after I read a comment somewhere about it being totally dishonest. I felt horrible. It had never crossed my mind. The cashier even told me to do it without the meat! So now that this deal is so close to that deal, I still haven't figured out what is right and what is wrong. Any help?

Okay quick update: I decided to call a few Albertson's and see what their managers had to say about it. The Overland and Five Mile manager at first said that if it works than it must be okay but then as we got to talking more he said that the deal is set up to help the meat department. Then he said that it's not right to try and do that even if it works. The Meridian and Fairview manager immediately said no way and said that the cashiers are instructed to put the $10 back on if they don't have meat. I feel good about this.

I was perfectly happy and willing to get meat and when I asked the cashier about it she said that it wasn't necessary. The cashier in the check-out line next to me agreed. I didn't need the meat, so I didn't get any although had it been necessary, I would have gotten some and frozen it. Also, I mixed and matched all the Kraft/Unilever products. Some were $1, some were $2 or $2.50, and some were $3.99. I combined the different totals from different sides of the flier to get to $25 before coupons/tax and I didn't have any problems.
