Unilever Rebate Scenario

Update:
I actually went and did this scenario today. I substituted All laundrey detergent for the Snuggle dryer sheets (they were the same price) and I did decide to get a bigger ham (the rebate is for the actual price of the ham up to $20 so this didn't change the outcome of the scenario). I also found out that you can do all the items in one transaction and still get the meat credits, so I got $20 off.

Here it is:
Total with tax $37.95
-$19.35 (actual cost of ham that I will get from the rebate)
-$10 in Catalinas from Post
= $8.60
Ok girls, are yo ready? I put together a scenario for the Unilever rebate and Albertson's sale so everyone could see how great it is. On the rebate form, it says to mail in your receipt(s). So you don't have to have all your Unilever items on the same transaction. I put together two transactions in increments of $25 for the meat discount and $40 of that has to be from products in the Unilever deal. Remember this total is before coupons. This is the scenario I came up with.

Transaction 1

1 Cool Whip $1
4 I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spreads $2.00 each -4 .50/1 from 3/29
3 Breyer's 16 oz. $1.00 each
2 Breyer's 1.5 qt. $3.00 each- .75/1 from 4/5
3 Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion $2.50 each-$1.25/1 from 3/1

= $18.25
-$10 meat discount

Transaction 2

2 Snuggle Cream Fabric Softener Dryer Sheets $3.99 each- $1/1 from 1/18
2 Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion Cocoa Butter $2.50 each- $1.25/1 from 3/1
4 Wish Bone Bountifuls Dressing $2.00 each- $1/1 from 3/15
4 Lipton Recipe Secrets Dry Soup Mix $1.00 each- .60/2 from 4/5
1 Philadelphia Cream Cheese $1.00
1 10 lb. Cooks Shank Portion Ham $9.99 (you could do a bigger one up to $20)

=$26.27
-$10 meat discount
-$9.99 mail in rebate for ham

Total for both Transactions after rebate= $14.53

I'm sure there are even cheaper scenarios, this is just the things I want to get. Click here to see the Pinching Your Pennies list of the Alby's deals. The one's with a U work for the rebate. See what you can come up with!

If you can do the unilever deal in more than one transaction then we probably are almost halfway there!. Didn't everyone purchase knorr products this last weekend? There was a .75/2 for knorr side dishes and I purchased 20 dollars worth. If I will have to get my receipt out to see how it rang in. That would leave only 20 dollars to finish off the rebate and make it much easier to do the deal at albertsons.

Good Point! I didn't think of that. I double checked and it does say on the form that they can be purchased in different transactions, they just have to be purchased between 4/1 and 4/30 and you have to have the original receipts.

so, does the scenario you present also get you 2 sets of the 10% off coupons if you purchase tomorrow through Sunday? Am I understanding that 10% off promo?

Anna said...

You would only get the 10% off coupons for the transaction with the ham in it. I'm pretty sure that they are given for your total amount purchased after coupons. The first transaction wouldn't equal the $25 requirement.

Maybe the 10% coupon promo will work similarly to how the cool savings awards worked--you didn't have to spend the whole amount in one transaction--as long as you used your preferred card, it kept track of your spending for you, and when you reached the threshold, the register prompted the checker to hand over the coupons. That's only a guess though.

Did you not have to buy meat with both transaction?

Anna said...

Emily, it looks like you could be right. It doesn't specifically say that you have to spend the $25 in one transaction, so maybe it will accumulate.
Michelle, the $10 meat credit has been coming off even if you don't buy meat. You could add a pack of hamburger if you wanted, but don't seem to have to.

Can you please tell me what Albertsons location you found the Curel rebate? I called my store and they do not have it. Thank you!

On your rebate scenario you have listed Philadelpha Cream Cheese but that is a Kraft product and not eligible for the $20 ham rebate--is this right? Also, the All 3X detergent is a Unilever product but it is not listed as a participating Unilever product for this promotion on the makinglifebetter.com website which explains the $20 rebate. And Snuggle is also not listed as a participating product. Do you have any additional information about these items? Do you think we can use Unilever products (like All detergent) even if they're not listed as part of the promotion? I absolutely hate it when I send in for a rebate and don't end up getting it because of some small error and $20 is a lot to lose!

Okay, so I called Unilever Customer Service and talked to somebody about this $20 ham/turkey rebate. The lady I talked to said that Wisk/All/Snuggle are NOT eligible products for the rebate. If it isn't listed on the website, it isn't eligible. She also said that the ham must come from a grocery store and that a Unilever participating product must be on the receipt along with the ham/turkey. The ham/turkey CAN cost more than $20, but only $20 will be refunded. Hope that helps clarify things!

I went to McMillan/Eagle today and I tried to buy the $25 worth of products without meat, and it did not take the $10 off. She entered manually, but reluctantly. I did a seconds transaction right after and the same thing. Is anyone able to get the $10 off without buying meat?

Cassie, For the Unilever rebate, you have to have $40 in Unilver products, but, for the Albertson's sale, you have to do $25 transactions, so my transactions have $40 in Unilever, and the other $10 are made up of other things that are included in the Alby's sale, and not Unilever because I already filled that requirement. Does that make sense?

Cassie
I really appreciate you calling them.
It clarifies the unilever deal. I also used my double coupons to do the sauve deal and it looks like that would count as well since I purchased it after april 1st.

We should all comb our receipts for unilever stuff.

From reading the albertsons deal it says ( up to 10 dollars in meat) so you really can't get a ham or a turkey because it is definitely going to be more than 20 dollars even if your order is 50 dollars.

Also is the 25 dollars after coupons?

Are we sure we have to break these in 25 dollar increments?

My Snuggle $2/1 coupon was only for liquid even though the sheets were pictured also. I went by the wording....the checked pointed it out to me. Bummer.

I just posted but realized I should have posted here where people were asking questions. Today I did a transaction that totaled 75.00 of kraft/uniliver products and yes without me saying or doing anything, the register takes off (3)10.00 I wouldn't see why the albertsons would be different but I was at the ten mile albertsons.

Does anyone know if you get the new 10% off coupons do you have to make a minimum purchase? I thought I heard you have to spend 50.00 to use the 10% off's which I NEVER do. Just wondering if these % offs were something to look forward to like th (4)5% offs I used today.
I never make a lot of sense sorry.

Emily C. said...

Yes--the coupon pictured in the ad says "10% off your purchase of $50 or more with Preferred card."

Emily C. said...

The Hendricks--when you got the $30 off automatically, did you have meat in the transaction, or no meat?

Heather Wheeler said...

I think I remember hearing that you have to spend $25 in one transaction to get the 10% off... it doesn't roll like the cool savings.

Anna said...

Cynthea, the $10 on meat comes off automatically, it doesn't depend on how much meat you actually buy. The Cook's Shank Portion Ham is on sale this week for .99 per lb. so you could get a 10 lb. ham for $9.99. You would then be refunded that same amount of $9.99 from Unilever. This is how I got the figures for the scenario. You could get a larger ham for up to $20 and the numbers would all be the same, except you would get a larger rebate.
The $25 in my scenario is pre-coupons. You send the receipt to Unilever with the items and prices highlighted. The coupons come off later and are generically listed so you should be able to use the pre-coupon price.

Anna said...

Staci, thanks for the info or the Snuggle coupons. I updated the scenario using a newspaper one. Big bummer about the printable!

The Hendricks ID said...

No I did not buy any meat the 30.00 just automatically came off.

Emily C. said...

To clarify--on the 10% off coupons (available starting tomorrow), to GET them you have to spend $25 or more over 4/9-4/12 (be it in one transaction or many), to USE them you have to spend $50--not sure if that $50 is before or after coupons, the ad doesn't specify. But the cool savings coupon discount was taken AFTER coupons, so I suspect this might be the same.

Good Job Anna! Now, I need to go!

Just so everyone knows check out the unilever site to make sure of the products that can be used for the rebate IT ISN'T ALL products, htere are a list of specific ones ALL and snuggle aren't included. I called to make sure that that was correct and the lady said yes only the ones te site says that are participating the others they sold to another company so check out the link that was put on here earlier and make sure you add up to 40.00 with the products that are participating.

Anna said...

I checked the website and it doesn't look like you can print rebate forms from there. Does anyone else know? I have a few extras. Email your address you want it sent to fiveatwoods99@yahoo.com if you would like one. I'm sure lots of other KCL's have extras too.
