2 Great Scenario Ideas at Albies!!!

Thanks to my friend Anna for sharing her scenarios with us! She's a KCL Pro!

Transaction 1:

Buy 10 Easy Mac Cups $1.00 each
Save $5 Instantly
Use (5) $.55/2 Tearpad coupons (found in the aisle- by the products)
Use 2 Double Coupons
Final Price: $1.15 for all 10 or $.12 each!!

Transaction 2:
Buy 10 Starkist Tuna Pouches $1.25 each
Save $5 Instantly
Use $1.50/3 Tearpad Coupons (also found by the product)
Or look for peelies, and a $1.50/3 Catalina should print when you buy 3
Final Price OOP: $3.00
PLUS!! When you buy 5 a $1 Catalina (OYNO) will Print, So buy 10, earn $2 in Catalina Coupons
Final Price When factoring in Catalinas: $1.00 or $.10 each

Plus! Did you know you can use a Doubler Coupon with a $1 Catalina!?!?!?

Isn't a catalina an in-store coupon? Wouldn't that be trying to use 2 in-store coupons?

A Catalina is a Manufacturer coupon... most of the time it will say "manufacturer coupon' on it, and it usually says which manufacturer! Hope this helps!

DOUBLERS? Where did I miss out, Are they in the store or Wednesdays paper?

andrea.roche said...

Heads up. Those free papers they throw on your driveway. (What are those called?) have Albertsons doublers n them - as they often do.

So go get yours and your neighbors and your neighbors neighbors (with them knowing of course). KCL prob. doesn't promote Kleptos or is it cleptos?

Emily said...

Does that including using the bygo from 6/21 parade? I have one of those so would paying for 9 plus getting one free make the 10 required in order to save the $5?

Sue said...

There was a $1.00 off Bumble Bee 2.5 oz pouch tuna in last Sunday's insert. On sale now at Winco for .88. FREE!

Heather Wheeler said...

Lindsay-
Doublers were in the paper, and at the store (at least in Emmett)

Andrea-Thanks for the heads up about another way to get doublers! And yes, we like to ask our neighbors before taking things from their driveway... no "kleptos" here! :)

Emily-
The scenario I listed was not with the B1G1 coupons, rather I used a tearpad coupon found in the store, since those can be doubled!
Either way- it's a great deal!

Where are people finding the tuna peelies/tear-offs. I've been to 3 Albertsons in Boise, and haven't found any. I REALLY need some tuna, so if you could let me know that would be great. Thanks!

Check the sale section of the store. I've been to 3 stores and all three of them had them is special display areas on the advertised sale section. At the Glenwood and state store it was on a self of specials in the back right hand corner of the store a big pad of them.

Has anyone tried doing these deals yet? My sister in Meridian told me she couldn't double the Capri Sun coupon because when the -5.00 comes off, it does it by going back and taking .50 off each item. That makes the doubled coupon invalid because it was more than the product. Anyone see the transaction on the screen as they were checking out? Thanks.

Heather Wheeler said...

Niki-
If you are buying Capri Sun for $2.00 minus the $.50 promo savings, and then using $1/1 Capri Sun coupon and a doubler THEY HAVE TO ADJUST THE DOUBLER DOWN TO $.50!! Please don't let them tell you they can't accept the doubler. From the mouth of corporate they have to adjust it!! :) Make sense?

I went to one in Meridian and the checker told me that the best deal on the tuna is to buy 30 at a time. It took $5 off for each set of 10, I used 10 of the $1.50/3 that were at the store and it printed SIX $1 oynso. My next transaction I doubled 2 of the $1onyso and before tax it ended up being $0.50 for 30 pouches! Woo-hoo!

Heather Wheeler said...

Way to go Wixom Zoo! Love it! Which Meridian store did you find the tearpad coupons? And where in the store? People have been asking!

heather said...

I went and did the tuna deal. I bought 10, but only got ONE $1 catalina, NOT TWO. ALSO - the coupon that printed out was only for $1/3. AND there were no tear pads at my store.

heather said...

PLEASE DON'T HOARD THE TUNA. SOME OF US WANT SOME TOO!

Heather Wheeler said...

Ladies- consider special ordering the Tuna.. I found an ebay auction for the $1.50/3 coupons (I know, I shouldn't be supporting people who are stealing tearpads... no lectures please! :)) and I am going to special order my tuna! They will be here before the sale ends and I won't have to clear the shelf! Never special ordered? Leave a comment with your questions and we will help you!

I went to the store on Meridain/Fairview and they had lots of coupons. There was a whole display up front and then in the back of the store. They were just laying around. I didn't realize that it could be such a good deal and only got 3 pouches. Maybe tomorrow...

Bastian Duo said...

So I am VERY new at this (went to your class last week) and I was behind a lady at Albertson's today and she had a cart FULL of items and at the end after all of her coupons were entered.....all that she paid was sales tax. I am a believer!!!! SOON I WILL BE THAT GOOD!!!

Jessica said...

I just did the tuna deal as you said, in 3 seperate transactions. The last 2 times I actually had overage, so I grabbed a pack of gum! Thanks for the great tip!!!

makinzee said...

Albies on Ustick/Cloverdale was OUT of tuna tonight:( Peelies were in the produce section.

Keri Lyn @ She Saved said...

They had these Tunas clearanced at my Walgreens...and with the tearpad coupons they ended up being 17cents each! I had 3 coupons so I got 9 packets for 17cents each, and this is pretty good tuna!!

Fairview/Meridian rd is all out!

ldahospud said...

I would like to hear about the special ordering. Do you prepay? Do you split up the case(s) into transactions to get the best deal? And what, if I may ask, was your tuna scenario when you special ordered?

Thrifty Queen said...

You can not use the $1 catalina's as doubliers because they say they can not be doubled on them!!! Check and see.

thecouponproject.com said...

I was just going to come on and say what Thrifty Queen said. I don't know if it's the case for ALL Catalinas, but most of the ones I've seen read "do not double."

While I've never special ordered for a deal like this, I think it would absolutely be the appropriate thing to do as opposed to cleaning out the shelf.

Kylie said...

They can be doubled, because Albies pays for the doubling, not the manufacturer.

Kelsie said...

Mine didn't say do not double and it's never been a problem. They always do it and never have questioned it.

Milk and Cereal Deal.

I purchased 3 boxes of cereal see store ad for the right ones. I bought them at 2.49 each and then used a doubler with a $1/2 coupon off GEN Mills, then received a CAT for $4.50 for Milk, and another cereal coupon as well for future. I then bought 2 Gallons of milk. The checkout women did not think I could buy 2 gallons of milk (@2.39 each), She said only one but the coupon prints and gives you a $4.50 credit on your bill, so basically the 2 gallons of milk was free. And the cereal was $1.68 a box with my coupons. Just thought I would let you know.

Jessica&Cameron said...

what is a catalina coupon? I dont get it?? I thought it was a coupon you get printed out after your transaction? Please help me

Andrea B. said...

Yes, the Catalina is the coupon that is printed at the end of the transaction. However, you can seperate out your items and do more than one transaction in one trip. Like with the cereal I did this in one transaction and paid for them and they gave me the Catalina coupon. Then I bought the milk with the Catalina Coupon that I just recieved in an additional transaction all in the same trip. So basically you can turn around and use the Catalina coupon right away, you do not have to wait. The main thing is to plan how you want to do your transactions before you go to the check out. Hope this helps.

Just a heads up for everyone who may be buying the Kellogs Pop Tarts (part of the $5 Epic Savings Deal), for some reason when you buy the pop tarts, you don't get the $5.00 off. I went and talked to customer service, they said they are part of the deal, and they just gave me $5.00 back in cash. So if you buy these and you don't get your $5.00 off GO talk to customer service!

Chantel said...

What is special ordering? I would like to try it! Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Heather Wheeler said...

Special ordering is so easy! Just go to a manager at the Albertson's you frequent and tell them you would like to order x amount of the product you want. They will put the order in that day, and it usually arrives in the next shipment. They are ordering these products in addition to what they would normally order, and so you don't need to worry about taking "too many" products. Also, they will call you when the items come in (or you can just go get them on the day they tell you) and you can pick them up from the back of the store. You pay for them WHEN YOU PICK THEM UP, not when you order them! And you are free to use whatever coupons you need.

Be sure to be clear that you want the products in time for the sale price/promotional savings, so be sure to order during the first couple days of the sales.

Also, it helps to place the order with the manager who is in charge of ordering stock to ensure it will get ordered correctly and in a timely manner.

Did I miss anything?

Where is everyone finding the tearpads? I went to an Albertson's in Utah to do the easy mac deal and couldn't find one tear pad, or any of the peelies for the pasta salad? is it only select albertsons who do this? why wouldn't there be peelies on the pasta salad? and how much do you have to spend to get a catalina? is it a certain product you get? I went there and bought two gallons of milk but didn't get one? I am very new at this! thanks!

5&O Albies has marked their Albacore packets to the $1.25 and are including them on the 10 item deal. They had maybe 20 or os as of an hour ago.

Sara S. said...

I just got off the phone with customer service at my Albertsons (McM and Eagle) and they said the tuna has been out of stock at the warehouse, but he's getting in a big shipment in the Sat. night freight.

Sara S. said...

Also, I'm confused about the catalinas. I thought you got $1 for 5 OR MORE pkgs tuna, but many are making it sound like they got $1 for every 5 they bought, even in the same transaction. Is that right?

Sara said...

I didn't check blogs for a few days, and totally missed out on the tuna deal. Upset with myself. Now there aren't any coupons or tuna left at the 4 different stores i went too. Anyone have any of the coupons or tuna in the nampa caldwell area that wouldn't mind sharing with me. Thanks, Sara sf_me@hotmail.com

I've been searching all week for this tuna! I called the state & 36th street store this morning and they got a shipment in. They are not putting it out because people will just buy it all up, so it will be held in the back. I called and reserved 60 for me and 2 friends that have all been looking for it. So if you want some call 426-9614 and ask for Matt. He will hold it and when you go in he will instruct you on the best way to buy it all for maximum savings because it's confusing.
