Question - can they double the coupons when the double coupon is more than the price of the item?

APRIL - - they will double the coupon to not give you overage. So if you have the Pop Tarts 55-cent off coupon and the Pop Tarts are $1, they will double to 45-cents and not give you overage. However, depending on the checker, you may get the whole thing and make money.

A little confused here - - I thought there was a story on here before that Albertsons WILL let you use ALL double coupons in existence if they come out in more than one place in a week…and now I’m reading it depends on the store’s policy. I want to use the 5 that I have now all at once…3 in the ad and 2 from the special insert….but it depends on my store? Anyone know which stores will let you? I bet it will even depend on the checker….no?

michelle - ok, that makes sense...but I always get the cashier that won't double up to that price..wondering if I can find somewhere Albertsons "rules" on coupons so I can fire back when they tell me no...

APRIL - - this is the Albertsons coupon policy: http://krazycouponlady.blogspot.com/2009/07/albertsons-coupon-policy.html - - however it doesn't address what you're asking. And, if you'll look at the comments there, there is even an Albies cashier asking what the policy is - LOL

Pick another cashier -- go for the young kids - girls or boys...the older ladies are the worst....older guys are good too - ha.... that's what I have to do at my Albies and Wal*Mart...I'm not doing anything wrong, but I get less hassle when I "profile" *giggles*

I always shop at 36th and state street store, they will allow all 5 together in the same trasaction they have even encouraged it:-) I was told there will be two more doublers in sundays paper and all can be used... thats right 7 together in a transaction!! im dying to try it!! Also you can do as many transactions in a row as you want they dont make you get out of line and back in again!! I always have a great coupon experience with this store and they are always nice!!

Be careful if you're using your coupons to buy items for the Kellogg's Fuel for School promotion. I used mine last night and discovered the Special K crackers are not a qualifying product. (Please, someone tell me I am wrong, but I sure don't see them on the list.)

I can get coupons for several of the items, but am not sure if I will bother now.

Dang i didn't think I could use 5 doublers. I went to the albies on McMillian and Eagle today and they were out of the Special k so I was bummed cause I didn't have a backup plan and just ended up buying one more right bites. Still only spent $6 and then will get the $10 rebate so it's a money maker!

HEATHER - thanks for the head's up, that's my Albies...I'll stop at another on the way home to see if I can get everything in the scenario.

Did you notice - or anyone know - Pop Tarts: do we have those new Blueberry muffin ones...? I have whacks of those coupons and with the promo and the doublers they are freeeeeeeeeeee for me!

So is the special k not part of the rebate? If so that would be good they were out and I didn't buy any but guess I bought extra poptarts so still woulda had 10 items.

Ya I was bummed it was for blueberry only I had coupons for.

Utah County Albies will only let you use more than three doublers at a time, but soon I will have no more Albertson's:( I didn't know about the kellogg's rebate so I had two transactions on different trips and got the first for 3.86 and then the pop tarts for .60. I am happy with that and will move on!

Sorry, will let you use NO more than three doublers at a time. Typo:)

I went to (2) different Albies' last night and they both took the 5 doublers with no issues. I also made my Wal*Mart trip - - I know, I hate Wal*Mart too, but when I can get FREE stuff, come on! I got whacks of the free Kotex liners (97-cents and there's a $1 off coupon)....free candy bars with the $1 off 2 (they are 50-cents)...the Jello coupons...the Kraft dressing was 8-cents with the $1.50 off.... - - all told with the (2) Albies' and the Wal*Mart trip it was $202 before coupons and $51 after :)

April,
I had an issue at Albertsons this last Thursday. I was told that I couldn't use internet printed coupons and that this was a new policy. I asked since when because on Tuesday I used almost $100 worth of internet printed coupons. The cashier told me that I couldn't do it and I would have to call the manager in the morning if I wanted to discuss it further. She PISSED ME OFF! I came home and started looking for this policy. I ended up calling the 800 number on the website, and made a complaint.
The next morning, I called the manager, told him my name and he said that he already had my complaint sitting on his desk. I explained to him what happened, and there are a couple of reasons that they do not take internet coupons (people coming in with coupons for free can of coffee or free carton of cig). I then told him who I was, he knows me, just not by name, and I told him that I am not scamming. I am buying food for my family, and my daycare. He told me that he will put my name on 'the safe' and that if I had anymore problems to tell whoever it was that my name is on the safe, and if there is still a problem, to tell the manager on duty to call him at home.
So..long story short, get to know the manager (and if you have a coupon binder, they see you :) ) ..and then let them know of your problems.
I was also given a $20 gift card for my troubles.
