my favorite lime recipe:
Garlic Lime Chicken (Or fish, or pork... the stuff is good on EVERYTHING!)

1 tsp salt
3/4 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp red pepper
1/4 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp thyme

6 boneless, skinless chicken
2 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp Olive Oil
4 Tbsp lime juice
1/2 cup chicken broth

Mix together all spices. Sprinkle spice mixture on both sides of chicken. In skillet heat together butter and olive oil. Saute chicken about 5 minutes per side, until golden. Remove chicken. Add lime juice and broth and wisk to deglaze the pan (you want the brown bits!). Allow sauce to reduce slightly. Return chicken to pan and throughly coat (make sure its cooked through too!). Serve with garlic mashed potatoes, or rice, or pasta (my favorite is angel hair!).

This recipes works really great on other meat too. Its really yummy on talapia or other midly flavored fish too.

Also, limes are really good zested in fruit salads.

My favorite lime recipe Brazilian Lemonade. It is so good and easy to make.

Brazilian Lemonade

2 limes
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
3 cups water

1. Wash limes thoroughly. Cut off ends and slice into eight wedges. Place limes in a blender with the sugar, sweetened condensed milk and water.

2. Blend in an electric blender, pulsing 5 times. Strain through a fine mesh strainer to remove rinds. Serve over ice.

My favorite lime recipe is what I like to call...

Mexican Coleslaw

1 bag of cabbage or coleslaw mix
cilantro
green onion
about 2 limes
Coleslaw dressing mix (I like the Litehouse brand that is in the refrigerated section by the bags of lettuce)

I don't really do measurements I just taste test until its good enough.

Add bagged cabbage to large bowl
Chop cilantro and green onions and add to the cabbage.
Squeeze the juice of 1 lime into the cabbage mixture (I would add the coleslaw dressing after the 1st lime and then taste test to see if it needs more lime...it usually does for me)
I think I add about 2 tablespoons of the coleslaw dressing. Just as much as it takes until I like it.

Sorry there are no measurements I am just not that kind of a cook haha.
This is a great refreshing summer side dish. I also make taco's and add this on the taco's instead of lettuce...YUM!

I like Lime-aid. I usually use key limes, but I've made it with regular limes and it's good too. I just juice 6 limes (or 12 key limes) 1-2 cups of sugar and then I just fill my gallon pitcher most of the way to taste.

They usually print off on your receipt or catalina wording that says something like this "50 reward box tops"-you just turn it in to your school.

I'm just wondering how you are able to use all three coupons on one package of the huggies? Or am I just looking at it wrong?

Do the Granola Nut Clusters work for the Nature Valley Granola Bar Catalina? They are not "Granola Bars" but listed in the same section. ????

One of my favorite things to do with limes are virgin strawberry margaritas (family friendly!)

Freeeze quartered strawberries- about a pound or so

Put in blender

Add one can of Sprite/Sprite Zero, 7Up, etc.

Add juice of one lime or more

(Optional- Add a splash of coconut syrup such as Torani)

Blend together with ice to desired consistency! YUM!!

Check out the "black bean and corn salad II" on www.allrecipes.com - the dressing has fresh lime juice in it. Its one of my all time favorite salads (or used as a dip/salsa for tortilla chips).

I agree with Shiela, Brazilian Limeade is the best thing to do with limes!

Just got home from shopping the promo and got the 3.50 cat for 5 Nature valley granola bars (didn't try the nut clusters). The 5.00 off cat printed in addition and the 50 bonus box tops print out with the catalina coupons to turn in to the school.

Did a back to back with 5 fruit snacks and had issues. There was a questionable Fruit Shapes in mine that was marked in one part of the store as part of the Big Boxtops promo but not in another. They did finally get both to work (by substituting items for the fruit snacks) but that 3.50 cat worked too.

Thanks KCL for the great information - you make shopping with coupons and getting great deals easy!!

hey ya'all, I was checking through sever back to back transactions for the box top promo tonight and the manager ringing me up had me swith around my stuff with a prom then a reg trans then a prom then a reg trans, it seems if you use the same pref card for back to back catalina deals it wont print the catalina so he said either alternate different deals or get a second pref card. we alternated I did the deal 6 times and had no troubles.....

Terry said...

smiling mama - there was a .70/2 for any flavor granola bar - I dont remember which week.

five mile and overland has a lot of the .50/1 (dark choc/pomegranat flavor) that you can use with the deal.

I did 6 fruit chews and 4 granola bars and had $11 in catalina's to use when I did the huggies diapers/cascadian farms cereal combo! I got my diapers plus a box of organic cereal for 8.49 :) I didn't see any of the clearance diapers at cole and fairview or five mile and overland - but I will keep checking, do you think they'll start marking them down?
