WinCo Foods opening in Utah

Chin up Utahns! I know you're mourning Albertson's departure . . . but at least you're getting Win Now that whole myth of "Washington Idaho Nevada California Oregon" will be out the window for good. Unless they change the name to "Winuco"-- I kinda like it!
thanks KSL for the photo

So do you think they will be replacing the Albertson stores that will be closing their doors?

Is Albertsons leaving?

There's a WinCo just west of I-15 and 7200 So. exit. It's going up quick!

Mindy, I'm pretty sure that is the only WinCo for UT right now. Winco isn't replacing Albertsons, Associated Food Stores bought 36 Utah Albertsons stores (all Utah stores but 3 in the south) and they will be transitioning to a yet un-named AFS chain store... Utah Deal Diva has been posting occasional updates on it.

I hope your Winco is easier to work with when it comes to printed internet coupons. I have had several clerks give me a bad time about using IPCs (internet printed coupons). They dont like having to take the time to punch in the numbers when a bar code doesnt scan right away. GOOD LUCK!

There are also two other Winco locations in Utah being built. One in West Valley City off of 5600 W just north of the Walmart, there will be another one in Roy but they haven't started construction yet. Rumor is that there will be 10 different Winco location in the state of Utah so we will have to wait and see where they will all be.

Too bad Winco doesn't take any of the printed coupons you could get off this web site :(

Kristin, My Winco in Twin Falls accepts IP coupons, so keep your chin up!

Winco does accept printable coupons, their only stipulation is that the coupon must scan.

There are actually two WinCo's being built right now (that I know of). This one mentioned that is on 700 W and about 6900 S (close to I-15) and another one in the West Valley area.

I am excited about these stores too and look forward to getting to know their coupon policy.

And BTW: WinCo stands for Winning Company, not an acronym for the states that they are currently in.

Hey Friends in Utah, The two Winco stores that you see being built in the SL area will be open in October and November!!!
Winco, which actually stands for Winning Company, is a great place to shop. We have an awesome bulk foods dept. where you can save some bigtime cash! Yes, I know, you have to bag your own groceries, but that is a small price to pay to save money. The rumors going around are that they are planning about 15 stores in Utah, most I think being along the Wasatch Front.

Good Luck,
A WinCo Driver.

I love love Winco! Even BEFORE they would take the internet printables, and now that they do (but they have to scan), I love them even more!!!

Bagging isn't that big of a deal, take someone with you, an older child, someone else's kid.... buy 'em a candy bar, (that you get FREE with a coupon)!! Lol

I got really excited when I first saw the post, but then soon realized that they're both going in a good 40 minutes North of me, but at least they haven't shut down the Albertson's in Utah County...
