National Pretzel Day

Pretzelmaker, the soft pretzel franchise revealed that it will once again be hosting
National Pretzel Day, Sunday, April 26
, with free original soft pretzels from open to close at participating locations nationwide (limit one per customer). The holiday is a celebration of the art of pretzel-making and a day of customer appreciation. Click here to find a location near you.

I contacted the NexCen parent company with concern that the free pretzel day was on a Sunday and that for religious reasons I do not go to the mall or shop on Sundays. I asked if they would be willing to extend an offer to any of our readers that allowed them to redeem this deal on a different day. They were extremely kind and prompt in their response. I didn't realize that the 26th of April is National Pretzel Day for them every year. Last year it was a Saturday and next year it will be a Monday. They respectfully declined extending the offer for a different day of the week, but they let me know if you want to
join the E-Club you can receive a BOGO pretzel offer. I appreciated their response and plan to use my BOGO free offer next time I'm at the mall.

MaggieMoo's "e-CONE-omic" Stimulus

I just received this offer direct from Jessie at

Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide

Ah Geez, you guys! Twice in one day! There are no Maggie Moos in Idaho. Oops! There used to be on on McMillan, One on Milkwaukee/Emerald and one in BODO but I guess none of us visited them enough and we no longer have any locations in Idaho. Hope this post still helps some of our out-of-Staters.

Catalina's at Albertsons

Okay, so I tried to use my Walgreens Catalina's at Albertson's yesterday and the cashier told me that they had just been sent a memo saying that they DO NOT accept other store Catalina's anymore unless it is item specific. I showed her that it was just a manufacturer coupon, but she said she was sorry, they were told they couldn't accept them any more. Has anyone else had problems with this? This was the Albertson's on Meridian/Fairview. I have a TON of Wag's Catalina's I need to use.

Domino's "BAILOUT" Free Pizza SCAM

I just got off the phone with Dominos Offices in Boise and confirmed that their website has been hacked by someone in Los Angeles and the BAILOUT code is a scam. I would not suggest driving to pick up your pizza until you've confirmed with the store that you're going to get it for free. Sorry for passing a bogus deal on to you all, this was a hard one to verify.

Cash & Carry Chicken

Thanks to our reader Lindsay for reminding me of this Deal!

Through April 4th Cash & Carry has a 40 lb box of frozen Chicken Breasts for $52!! That's only $1.30 per pound! There are 4 -10lb bags per box. Now, that's a Krazy Deal!

Go here to find a location near you!

Winco Cereal

I know you are all probably going to have way too much cereal after this week's Albertson's sale, but in case you are looking for variety- here's a great deal! Thanks to new reader Christine for emailing us!

"I kinda stumbled upon a good deal you may want to share with everyone- at least I think it is a good one! At Winco the Chex cereal is marked at $1.78 and on the front of the box is a coupon for $3.00 off the purchase of 3 boxes. So that brings the box down to $0.78 each!
I went to the Winco in Eagle and the display of the Chex cereals in by the produce, not down the cereal aisle. I don't know how long the deal lasts, but I stocked up a bit!"

Thanks, Christine! And good luck as you become a Krazy Coupon Lady! Your first step is definitely to get a subscription to the Sunday paper. If you live in West Ada County or Canyon County- there is a great deal on the Idaho Press Tribune... Call Greg at 208-870-2784 and tell him KCL sent you!

My Walgreens Trip

  • I should have been more vigilant in reading all of your comments before I went to Walgreens and the Softsoap RR wouldn't roll. Darn it!
  • I haven't had an opportunity to stock up on women's shave gel, so I was glad I could do that today. I'd hoped I could roll the RR from a skintimate shave gel to a transaction with an edge shave gel, but as some of our other reader's found out that didn't work. The skintamate shave gels were $2.99 and after each transaction the Catalina machine spit out a $3 Register Reward. So I paid a lot out of pocket, but they were essentially free. The men's edge gel was on clearance at Walgreens on Park Center in Boise for $2.20, and I still got the $3 RR, so those were kind of a money maker!
  • The Mentos gum is on sale 2/$2. I'm glad I saved my $1/1 any flavor Mentos from Smart Source on 3/1. These were totally free.
After Walgreens I headed to Albertsons for my post cereal. I'm so excited about all the good varieties. Blueberry Morning and Cranberry Almond sound so good! I just bought a bunch more coupons on ebay. There are lots more available. You can get 20 $1/2 coupons with a"buy it now" for $2.50 including shipping, so remember that's 40 boxes of cereal. If you buy coupons in bulk you'd better call your Albertsons location to pre-order your cereal. You won't pay til you pick it up, but they can order a large quantity in just for you and set it aside with your name on it in the back of the store. Most stores will do this, just call around. I always had good luck with Meridian/Fairview location.
Last, Amber reported that Albertsons at Overland and Orchard has Scotts TP 4 packs for 10/$10. This means if you print the Scotts coupon from the coupons.com toolbar above (read more in the post below) you can get free TP while you're getting your cereal.
Good Luck Krazy Coupon Ladies. Don't forget to report after your shopping trips!

Print these Coupons Today!

There are two great coupons that you'll want to print today from the Coupons.com banner above this post. Both are for Toilet Paper-which is one of my favorite things to stock up on cause it'll never go bad!
The first is save $0.50 on Any ONE (1) Cottonelle® Toilet Paper (4-pack or larger)
And the second is save $1.00 off the Purchase of Any ONE (1) SCOTT® Extra Soft Tissue (4-pack or larger)
Four packs for either of these TP brands are often $0.99 cents, and with other promos or doubling, you're bound to be able to get some free TP, especially the Scotts. Don't wait too long to print, these are good coupons and the number of prints are limited. The easiest way to print is to select "see all coupons" in the lower right corner of the coupons.com banner. You won't regret this print!

According to dealseekingmom At Walgreen's when you buy 1:

SoftSoap Body Wash for $3.99
A Register Reward prints for a free Soft Soap Body Wash.

Great right? Free Body Wash! Well, to sweeten the deal, it appears that you can "roll" you RR and a new Register Rewards will still print! In other words this deal is working like Albertson's, Buy 1 and a RR will print. Then, do a new transaction with another SoftSoap Body Wash and use the previous RR and a new RR will still print!!!

To make it a money maker use this $1/1 printable and get paid!!

Sweet Music to My Ears!!

Pepsi Roundup

So, has anyone else been holding on to your B2G1 free Diet Pepsi coupons, in hopes of a screaming deal?  Well I have, and there are three different stores offering sales on Pepsi products this week--Target, Walgreen's and Albertson's--so how's a girl to choose?

I did a little math so I could compare all three sales, and here is what I found:

Target's sale: Pepsi 12-packs 5 for $15 (or $3ea), get a $5 gift card when you buy 5
(6) Diet Pepsi @ $3ea (you have to buy 6 in order to use (2) B2G1 coupons) = $18
use (2) B2G1 coupons (so minus $3 and $3) = $12 OOP
Get $5 gift card, factor in, = $7 for 6 12-packs, or $1.17 per 12-pack!

Walgreen's Sale: Pepsi 12-packs 4 for $12 (or $3ea), get $3 Register Rewards back
(6) Diet Pepsi @ $3ea. (you have to buy 6 in order to use (2) B2G1 coupons) = $18
use (2) B2G1 coupons (minus $3 and $3) = $12 OOP
Get $3 RR, factor in, = $9 for 6 12-packs, or $1.50 per 12-pack

Albertson's Sale: Pepsi 12-packs 3 for $12 (or $4ea), in-ad coupon for 12-pack for 2.97ea., limit 2
(2) Diet Pepsi 12-packs @ 2.97ea. (use in-ad coupon) = $5.94
plus (1) Diet Pepsi 12-pack @ $4ea. = $9.94
use (1) B2G1 coupon (max value 3.99), so minus 3.99 = $5.95 for (3) 12-packs, or $1.98 per 12-pack

So Target is the clear winner in the Pepsi sale challenge!  Go get yourself some cheap soda gals!

Prescription Transfer Deals

Companies want your business!! Take advantage of these offers and make some dough...
(in the form of giftcards!)
Just call your prescription (for you, your husband or kids) into your usual place and then immediately call one of these businesses and have them switch the prescription to their store. Just take the coupon in when you go to pick up your prescription... Finally it pays to need drugs!

  • RiteAid has an online coupon for a $25 Gift Card when you transfer a prescription to their store. Just print this coupon and take it in when you pick up your meds. Plus, you can use 2 per person, so you can make up to $50 per family member if you use multiple prescriptions!! Offer expires 3/31/09

  • Target has a coupon in most of their Sunday Ads for $10 when you transfer a prescription. Make sure you have the coupon before you transfer it. Also, Target has $4 generics. And the only Target Pharmacy in the Treasure Valley is the Nampa Store.

  • Walgreen's also has a coupon in their ad every couple of weeks. It is usually $25 when you transfer one prescription. Just be on the lookout for it...

  • I also heard, but haven't confirmed, that Shopko will take their competitors pharmacy transfer coupons. Call your store before you try, to confirm.

  • Thanks to Tricia for the heads up... In the Sunday paper (not sure if it was this week or two Sunday's ago... sorry!) there was a coupon for a $25 gift card at Fred Meyer's when you transfer a prescription to their pharmacy.
  • And thanks also to Jamie- for all you local Merdian readers, here is another great option. The Medicap Pharmacy located at Cherry and Ten Mile will give you a $10 Gas Card for new transfers. And... they deliver! Man- this would have been perfect when I was pregnant and sick! Call for more details, their number is (208) 288-1496

Club Tucano's

Have you all been to the new Brazilian Grill TUCANO'S yet?
We got one in Boise a few months ago and they also have locations in Albuquerque, Provo and Salt Lake!

My husband and I went there this week with Joanie and her husband and we all loved it! It was seriously yummy!! Here's how it works. There's not really a menu and the entrees are $20 per person. That gets you an Unlimited Salad Bar (with lots of yummy food, my favorites were the cheesy mashed potatoes and fresh fruit) and Unlimited Meat. Your waitress will give you a little colored block with Green on One Side and Red on the Other.

So, first we took a couple trips to the salad bar and then when we were ready for the meat, we turned the block to Green and IMMEDIATELY a Meat Server Started bringing us meat in his rotation. So every couple minutes you get to try different kinds of meat. Most were SO GOOD. Next time I will pass on the chicken hearts to save room for the Teriyaki Steak, Brisket, Bacon Wrapped Turkey and other yummy goodness that I don't know that name of. (Our Meat Server had a serious accent, think Mr. Deeds) Joanie's favorite was the Grilled Pineapple with a brown sugar glaze!!

Okay, so sounds good right? Are you still scoffing at the $20 per person price tag? Go here to join there Birthday club and in the month of your birthday they will send you a postcard for Buy One Entree Get One Entree Free! So, only $20 for two people!

Albertsons Gas Rewards

We've had lots of visitors looking for specific information on the
Albertsons Fuel Rewards
Program so here are the pertinent details on this AWESOME deal from Albertsons that can just about earn you FREE FUEL!
  • Every time you accumulate $50 in qualified purchases, you’ll earn a 5 cent per gallon discount good on your first 20 gallons purchased at participating Albertsons Express locations.
  • If your one car won't hold 20 gallons, you can take two cars, pull them up to the same pump and use up all 20 gallons on two vehicles.
  • The reward is based on your PRE-COUPON total!! On some big catalina promotions some KCLs' pre-coupon total is something like $500 and they only spend $50, so they'd get 50 cents off per gallon just for one big trip!
  • Gas Rewards expire 90 days from the date of award issuance.
  • The reward is basically 10% of your total pre-coupon purchases at Albertsons, but it is awarded in $50 increments. So if you spend $48.70 pre-coupon, you wouldn't get anything or if you spend $99.00 you would only get 5 cents. But if you spend $101.00 you get 10 cents off.
  • You do NOT need your preferred card at the pump to cash in on your rewards. Simply use one of your Albertsons receipts and look in the upper right corner for your preferred savings number. Enter this at the pump to redeem your rewards.
  • Qualified purchases exclude dairy, prescriptions, tobacco, alcohol, money orders, stamps, lottery tickets, gift cards and fuel.
  • And the Best Part is until the end of March Albertsons is DOUBLING gas rewards, so instead of .05 cents for $50 purchase, it's now .10 cents. That's 20%!
  • See the Official Rules Here. Official Rules also contain all participating locations in Idaho and Nevada as well as the locations of all the Albertsons Express Gas Stations.

Since it was such a last minute thing, they are afraid people won’t show, so invite anyone you think would like to go.

I’m sure that most of you probably know some of his music.  Here are a couple of web sites to hear some of it:

Sunday Coupon Insert Preview

There will be two inserts in this Sunday's papers. Most cities will receive one SmartSource and one RedPlum. There are some pretty good coupons coming! Here are my two favorites:

$1.50/1 Kraft Salad Dressing 16oz -- MSM reports these on rollback at Walmart for $1.59 and go on sale at grocery stores for less!

$1.00/1 Quaker Rice Snack Coupon-- $1.36 at Walmart. My kids will be so excited for more rice cakes! Last time we saw this coupon, I was able to get lots of free rice cakes when Albertsons doubled- they were priced at $1.99.

Thanks to MoneySaving Madness for the sneak peak!

Free Glucerna Cereal

Sign Up Here and print your $5.00 off any Glucerna Cereal coupon. Reported retail price of these cereals is around $3.94 (I haven't personally shopped this deal yet). Glucerna products are clinically shown to manage blood sugar, but they still look yummy to my sugar-lovin heart.
Final Price: Free plus possible overage

This just in from our reader DK Johnston
There is a great money maker at Walgreens with these. The RR deal is buy 2 Glucerna products get a $2.50 RR, buy 3 get $4.50 RR buy 4 get $7 RR.
The cereals cost $4.99 each/ meal bars $5.99.
Last week I bought 4 boxes of Glucerna cereal. Used 2 $5 off IPs and 2 $2/1 from the 3/1 SS.
I payed $5.96 for 4 cereals and got back $7RR. If you can print off 4 IPs the deal would be even better. 4 boxes for FREE PLUS $7 RR. This deal is supposed to go through 3/29.

Thanks so much for the tip DK Johnston!

Overdue Winners: Where in the world and Why do you coupon?

The Winner of the
"Where in the World. . .?" contest is
Kaye and Jared, from Anchorage, Alaska 3000 miles away!

And the winner of the
"Why do you Coupon?"
Richelle, who said,
"I do it for lots of reasons,
One, I'm addicted and I figure if I'm going to be addicted to something, why not have it be saving money.
Two because it's my way of helping out the budget, I'm fortunate enough to be able to stay home and so anyway I can help, especially if I can have fun doing it, I'm willing to try and
3) I want my kids to learn to save and be frugal too, and if you want something it's ok to wait until it's on sale so you don't have to spend all your money on it. I loved it the other night when my son said he wanted to buy something and asked if I'd watch for a coupon so he could get it!!
And 4) I just love it!

For the winners: send your mailing address to krazycouponlady@gmail.com and we'll mail you 3 sets of Sunday coupon inserts! Thanks everyone for playing!

Welcome Newbies!!!

We've had a few comments about Newbies and I wanted to jump in on it! First of all, I understand the term "Newbie" to mean someone who is New to Couponing... or "Coupon Virgins", as I have lovingly referred to them. I personally, love helping people learn the couponing ropes and hope this blog is helpful in that!

I think we can all have happy coupon experiences if we remember a few basic rules.

1. Play Nice. Be courteous to your cashier, managers, and fellow shoppers. -It's okay to question what a cashier is telling you and to ask for clarification from a manager, but be polite. - If you need to clear the shelf of an item, consider asking to special order. -If you are going to be doing multiple transactions, shop during the slow hours and let other customers go in front of you in line.

2. Follow the Store Policies and the Individual Coupon Rules. Don't expect stores to bend their rules or make an exception for you. Respect the Expiration Dates, Quantity Limits and Manufacturer's Rules. Most of the time, Stores will treat you with respect when you treat their store policy with respect.

3. Be Prepared. Your couponing experience will go so much more smoothly if you prepare for your trip by making a list and grouping your coupons together. It's amazing how much nicer I am if I am not stressed about getting all my coupons together come check out time.

4. Conduct yourself so you wouldn't be embarrassed if you ran into an old friend or church member. I have heard storied about women racing for diapers or even grabbing them out of other shoppers baskets or hands. Don't be that shopper. They give everyone a bad name!

Update on pace coupon

I guess the pace coupon was a glitch. Go here to find out more.

A FREE Something???

So I was driving on Fairview and Eagle today, and there was a guy standing on the corner, holding a sign that said "Text EASY to 25827 for FREE Wild Wings" I thought that it would be good because my hubby LOVES wings. So of course, with the word FREE, I decided to give it a go. Well, I got a response saying "Congrats! U WIN 1 FREE dessert from Carinos Italian Grill on Eagle & Fairview. Show this text to redeem. EXP 3.29.09" What???? That's not wild wings....

SO...I called Carinos, and they validated that I did in fact win a FREE dessert, but I have to purchase one entree to redeem it. They always get ya somewhere!!! :-) Whatever. It's a FREE dessert.

Give it a shot and let us know what YOU win!!!
