_________________________________________________________

Dear Krazy Coupon Lady,

Thank you for taking your time to contact our Corporate Offices. We appreciate hearing from our customers and value all comments received.

Unfortunately, we do not have a coupon policy.

Again, thank you for contacting our corporate office. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your comments.
Sincerely,

Consumer Response Representative

_________________________________________________________

Aren't you glad that I took the time to post that? So helpful, right?

Here is what we have found as far as coupon acceptance at Walgreens:

  • Walgreen's will tell you that their policy is to follow the guidelines printed on the individual coupons.
  • 1 Walgreens and 1 manufacturer coupon can be used for the same item, unless either coupon prohibits it.

Q. What happens if the Manufacturer coupon's value is more than the retail value? A. Walgreens does not provide cash back, but the coupon can be adjusted down.

Q. Can managers limit the number of items being purchased? A. Managers have the right to limit the quantities on all advertised items.

Reader Find at Walmart: $1.00 Ariwick i-motion!

Thanks to KCL Debbie for this great find at Walmart!

I was in my Super Walmart about an hour ago, getting my cheap White Cloud and Bagelfuls that I read about in your blog yesterday, and I happened to walk past a display of the Airwick Scented Oil i-motion and the Compact i-motion for $5 each. Combine that the recent $4.00/1 coupons from the Sunday supplements and they are only $1.00 each. The display was back near shoes and electronics.

So- here's what it looks like:
Airwick Scented Oil i-motion or Compact i-motion $5.00 each
Use the $4/1 from 8/9, 8/30

Final Price: $1.00
Thanks to Debbie for emailing us this information!

Walgreens 101: How the Krazy Coupon Lady shops Walgreens

Secrets to Success at Walgreens

Walgreens has many ways to get Krazy! With a combination of in-ad coupons, manufacturer coupons, Register Rewards and Sale Items,
you can often “get paid” to shop at Walgreens.

In Ad Coupons:

When you flip through the pages of a Walgreens circular, you will see many “in-ad” coupons. These are store coupons that typically set the price of the item- and will usually impose a limit to the number you can buy. These coupons will come out in the Sunday Paper and will be good through the following Saturday. It is Walgreen’s policy to allow you to use a store coupon in conjunction with a manufacture r coupon on one item.

Register Reward Program:

Walgreen’s has a “Catalina” program called Register Rewards. A Register Reward is a coupon that prints after you make a qualifying purchase. It is typically good for “X” amount off of your next transaction. Pictured below is what the ad will look like in the Walgreen’s Circular. When you buy the advertised item, after paying, you will receive a coupon (Register Reward) to use on your next purchase. You can make this a “money maker” buy using manufacturer coupons as well.

Here is a Money Makin’ Scenario for the ad pictured:
True North Nut Crisps or Clusters $3.00
Buy 1, Earn a $3 Register Reward

Use the $1.00/1 – True North Product – (truenorthsnacks.com)
Pay $2.00 Out of Pocket, and receive the $3.00 Register Reward.

Register Reward FAQ

Q: Will more than one register reward print out on the same transaction (buy 2 different products that each have a register reward)?
A: If you buy two (or more) DIFFERENT register reward items in one transaction, one reward will print for each different product that you have. However, if you buy two of the SAME item, only one Register Reward will print. So, if you are wanting to buy 2 of the Same product to trigger a Register Reward, do separate transactions.

Q. Can I use the RR that I received from item “X” to buy the same item “X”
A: This is known as “rolling” Catalina’s and can not be done, if you want another Register Reward to print. To best way to get around this, and keep your out of pocket expense low, is to find 2 different products that trigger the same value Register Reward and alternate buying those items in separate transaction, paying for the 2nd transaction with the first register reward, and so forth.

Q. Can I buy 1 item, and use 1 manufacturer coupon and 1 Register Reward Coupon to pay?
A. At Walgreen’s their registers will not allow you to have more coupons than items. If you have 1 item that you are buying, and you are paying with 1 manufacturer coupon and 1 Register Reward, you will need to add a “filler” item. This applies to all coupons. If you have in-ad coupons, manufacturer coupons and Register Rewards- just do a quick count of items and coupons. Make sure that you have at least one more item than you do coupons. Look for a clearanced item, pack of gum, individual caramel or Sunday newspaper to add as a filler item.

In Store Coupon Booklets:

Walgreen’s is also known for their in store coupon booklets. One that they almost always have is the Children’s Activity Booklet. They s ale available for purchase for $.99 and can usually be found in the pharmacy. Inside are store coupons that will usually have a total value of around $20. Also keep your your eye out for other seasonal coupon booklets.

Remember the Order:

Here is what we have found is the best order to hand the cashier your coupons. This way will allow for any possible overage:

1.Manufacturer Coupons
2. Walgreen’s In-Ad Coupons
3. Register Rewards

This order works especially well in a scenario like this:

{BUY 2} Dentyne Gum Regular Price $1.00 each
-Manufacturer coupon for Buy 1, Get 1 FREE (or -$1.00)
-Walgreen’s In Ad Coupon for 2/$1 (or-$1.00)
Final Price: FREE

Here’s what it would look like if you gave them the in-ad coupon first:

{BUY 2} Dentyne Gum Regular Price $1.00 each
-Walgreen’s In Ad Coupon for 2/$1 (or-$1.00)
-Manufacturer coupon for Buy 1, Get 1 FREE (or -$.50)
Final Price: $.50

What is Safeway's sale cycle?
Safeway sales and weekly ads begin Wednesday and end Tuesday. The new ad and the coupon match-ups on KCL post every Wednesday.

Does Safeway double coupons?
Select stores double coupons (depends on market competition in your area). If your store doubles, they will double coupons up to $0.50 in value 7 days per week. I don't live in an area that doubles, but I've read that coupons $0.51 or greater are rounded up to $1.00.

Does Safeway pay overage?
When the value of a coupon exceeds the value of the item, the register alerts the cashier and the cashier will have to manually type in the value of the item purchased. In my experience, Safeway does not pay overage.

Does Safeway accept printable coupons?
Yes, but they have a widely unenforced policy that states the printable coupon cannot exceed 50% of the item's value. Example, you may not use a $1.00 off coupon on a $1.99 product. In my opinion, though I see that they're trying to avoid taking high value, fraudulent coupons, this rule is silly. If your store enforces the rule, express your disappointment, show how your coupons are clearly legitimate and hope that corporate Safeway will decide to make a better anti-fraud policy. Find printable coupons on our coupon database.

Here is Safeway's official printable coupon policy: This only pertains to printable coupons!

Safeway's Printable Coupon Acceptance Policy
http://www.safeway.com/IFL/Grocery/Coupons-Policy

Effective September 2008, all Safeway owned stores accept legitimate, printable manufacturer’s and in-store coupons (“Printable Coupons”) pursuant to this policy. We recently engaged Coupons, Inc. to offer Printable Coupons on www.safeway.com and the websites of other Safeway owned companies. Help us make your shopping experience a pleasant one and prevent the abuse of this program by keeping in mind the following rules applicable to Printable Coupons.

We can only accept Printable Coupons if they scan properly at the register. Printable Coupons are delivered using special software, designed to print a properly rendered barcode and limit the number printed.

It is not an industry practice and we will not accept Printable Coupons for "FREE product" (i.e., no purchase required). Buy-one-get-one-free coupons and other varieties that have a purchase requirement are acceptable.

We will not accept Printable Coupons for more than 50% of a product's value. For example, a $2 off coupon will be acceptable for a product that sells for $5 or more, but a $2 off Printable Coupon for a product that sells for $2.25 will not be accepted. If there are exceptions, we are usually provided an advance notice by the applicable manufacturer upon which we will pass the appropriate savings, if any, onto you.

Printable Coupons will be rejected if they appear to be distorted or blurry, or are altered in any way or copied. You should always print them directly from the website or email that is offering it. Printable Coupons will never appear on your computer screen or sent as a graphic, PDF or Word document.

Printable Coupons are non-transferable, and should not be copied, scanned, sold, traded, or otherwise distributed to others. They have unique serial numbers printed on them and follow an industry-standard format.

Changes to the Gas Rewards at Albertsons

I got this information when I checked out at Albertson's today:

Effective September 17th, 2009:

  • New gas Rewards will expire 30 days from the date of issuance.
  • This change will only apply to Gas Rewards earned on or after September 17, 2009.
Gas Rewards discount limit is up to $1.50 off per gallon OR up to a combined total of 20 Gas Reward issuances, whichever is less. Unexpired balances greater than either limit will be available on the next fuel purchase.

** the part that has me concerned is that you can only earn gas rewards on up to 20 purchases. Some Krazy Coupon Ladies are making 10 purchases a week- and sometimes each of those purchases is only $5 (before coupons). This new policy is really going to slow down the gas savings!**

$1.00/2 – Campbells Cooking Soups (campbellkitchen.com)
$1.00/2 – Campbells Cooking Soups (familytime.com)

Our family's favorite way to eat tomato soup is serving with grilled cheese sandwiches, but with all the recipes I found today, I'm going to have to branch out!

TOMATO SOUP SPICE CUPCAKES
Serves: 24

I great friend I've made in my new area turned me on to the idea of baking with tomato soup. Think of moist breads like zucchini or pumpkin and give baking with tomato soup a whirl. You can feel a little better serving these to your kids! Thanks Jo!

Ingredients:

1 box (about 18 ounces) spice cake mix
1 can (10 3/4 ounces) Campbell's® Condensed Tomato Soup (Regular or Healthy Request®)
1/2 cup water
2 eggs
Cream Cheese Frosting

Directions:

Heat the oven to 350°F. Place liners into 24 (2 1/2-inch) muffin-pan cups.

Combine the cake mix, soup, water and eggs in a large bowl and mix according to the package directions. Spoon the batter into the muffin-pan cups.

Bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of a cupcake comes out clean.

Let the cupcakes cool in the pans on wire racks for 10 minutes. Remove the cupcakes from the pans and let cool completely.

Frost with your favorite cream cheese frosting.

Tip: After frosting, you can sprinkle the cupcakes with toasted chopped pecans or walnuts.

CREAMY CHICKEN ENCHILADAS
Serves: 6

Ingredients:

1 can (10 3/4 ounces) Campbell's® Condensed Cream of Chicken Soup (Regular, 98% Fat Free or 25% Less Sodium)
1 container (8 ounces) sour cream
1 cup Pace® Picante Sauce
2 teaspoons chili powder
2 cups chopped cooked chicken
1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese (about 4 ounces)
10 flour tortillas (6-inch), warmed
1 medium tomato, chopped (about 1 cup)
1 green onion, sliced (about 2 tablespoons)

Directions:

Stir the soup, sour cream, picante sauce and chili powder in a medium bowl.

Stir 1 cup picante sauce mixture, chicken and cheese in a large bowl.

Spread about 1/4 cup chicken mixture down the center of each tortilla. Roll up and place seam-side down in a 3-quart shallow baking dish. Pour the remaining picante sauce mixture over the filled tortillas. Cover the baking dish.

Bake at 350°F. for 40 minutes or until the enchiladas are hot and bubbling. Top with the tomato and onion.

TOMATO CHICKEN STIR-FRY

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into strips
3 cups cut-up vegetables *
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder OR 2 clove garlic, minced
1 can (10 3/4 oz.) Campbell's® Condensed Tomato Soup
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon vinegar
4 cups hot cooked rice

Directions:

HEAT 1 tbsp. oil in skillet. Add chicken and stir-fry until browned. Remove chicken.

HEAT remaining oil. Add vegetables and garlic powder and stir-fry until tender-crisp.

ADD soup, soy and vinegar. Heat to a boil. Return chicken to skillet and heat through. Serve over rice.

TIP: *Use a combination of broccoli flowerets, carrots cut in matchstick-thin strips and red or green pepper strips.

SLOW COOKER HEARTY BEEF & BEAN CHILIlow Cooker Hearty Beef & Bean Chili
Serves: 6

Ingredients:

1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 large onion, chopped (about 1 cup)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (10 3/4 ounces) Campbell's® Condensed Tomato Soup
1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
1/2 cup water
2 cans (about 15 ounces each) red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1/4 cup chili powder
2 teaspoons ground cumin

Directions:

Cook the beef in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat until well browned, stirring often to separate meat. Pour off any fat.

Stir the beef, onion, garlic, soup, tomatoes, water, beans, chili powder and cumin in a 3 1/2-quart slow cooker.

Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 9 hours.*

*Or on HIGH for 4 to 5 hours.

Serving Suggestion: Serve with slices of cornbread and a romaine salad tossed with fresh chopped basil and chives and Italian salad dressing. For dessert serve caramel or vanilla flan.

TOMATO CARROT SPICE CAKE
Serves: 16

Ingredients:

2 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking soda
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 eggs
1 can (10 3/4 ounces) Campbell's® Condensed Tomato Soup
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1 3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 large carrots, finely shredded (about 3 cups)
1 cup golden raisins
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
1 cup heavy cream
2 teaspoon grated orange peel
2 tablespoon orange-flavored liqueur

Directions:

Heat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 12-cup fluted tube cake pan.

Mix the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in a 2-quart bowl.

Beat the eggs with a fork or wire whisk in another 2-quart bowl. Beat in the soup, oil, sugar and vanilla. Stir in the carrots.

Add the soup mixture to the flour mixture, stirring just to moisten. Fold in the raisins and nuts. Spoon the batter into the prepared pan.

Bake for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool the cake in the pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Remove from the pan and cool completely on the wire rack.

Mix the cream, orange peel and liqueur in a 1-quart bowl. Beat with mixer at high speed until stiff. Serve with the cake.
